Yorktoberfest will follow the traditions of the first Oktoberfest staged in Munich in 1810 where the citizens were encouraged to eat, drink and be merry at the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and his princess bride. So much fun was had that an annual tradition was born… Now the residents of York and beyond will be invited to eat, drink and be merry-go-round at the Clocktower Enclosure on the Knavesmire from 21st – 31st October, where a giant Bavarian-styled beer tent and traditional funfair will set a festive scene.
About Yorktoberfest
Step inside the giant marquee, fill your stein with authentic German beer, grab a tasty bite from our German-inspired food stalls and head to your table for some hearty fun with friends. York’s own Oompah Brass Band will get you on your feet with their thigh-slapping, foot-stomping, feel-good music. Dancing is encouraged, as it has been for over 200 years, as is the wearing of Lederhosen, Dirndls or any other fancy dress, with nightly competitions and prizes for the best dressed.
The Bavarian Bar will also serve a range of wines, prosecco, spirits and soft drinks for those who prefer not to ‘hop’! A variety of food stalls will cater for all tastes, with the essential favourites of sausages, schnitzels and pretzels as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
Funfairs are an integral part of German Oktoberfests and Yorktoberfest will have its very own traditional funfair with Dodgems, Twister, Speedway and Chair-o-Plane delivering thrills (but no spills, as steins are not invited!)

To redeem your voucher, simply print or take a digital copy with you on your phone to the establishment.
Your voucher is valid for the sitting you select between 21st October to 31 October 2021.
This voucher is for a reserved table and Oompah Band. It does not include beer, other refreshments or the funfair which are additional.
