Acclaimed international show The Magic of Motown is joined by favourite York band Hyde Family Jam plus support act The Reciprocals for an evening of pure summer fun.
The Magic of Motown is a breath-taking live concert spectacular, seen by over a million people and now in its 18th year touring the UK. This brand-new show for 2023 features seven vocalists and a seven-piece band performing all the hits, with glittering costumes, dazzling dance routines and outstanding musicianship. You’ll be Going Loco Down in Acapulco as these outstanding performers take you back down memory lane with all the Motown classics from artists such as Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Martha Reeves, The Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson and many, many more.
Hyde Family Jam may look like a traditional folk band but they couldn't be less traditional! Playing the songs they love of any decade, any genre and in any way they fancy, their infectious enthusiasm has earned them legions of fans across the UK and abroad. This award-winning band play fast, loud and as entertainingly as possible, and look set to get the party started.
Warming up the night and getting toes tapping are The Reciprocals, a York-based musical duo with a charming stage presence. With their boy-girl harmonies, acoustic guitars and tonnes of chemistry, The Reciprocals effortlessly mix happy and heartache.
Picnic Patches
For those who like to know where they will be sitting, and who prefer to arrive at any time to suit them, the picnic patches are a convenient option. There will be 11 rows immediately in front of the stage with alternating patches for 2 or 4 people within each row.
The picnic patches will be defined by painted lines in our grass arena within the Clocktower Enclosure. A 2-person patch measures W1.5 x D1.5m, while a 4-person patch measures W2.0 x D1.5m, alternating in each row. The patches will be 60cm apart within each row, with patrons booking adjacent patches obviously able to use the area in-between.
Unreserved Picnic Area
This open area, immediately behind the rows of picnic patches, allows patrons to sit where they choose in an unrestricted space. It is first-come-first-served, and we politely ask you to respect your neighbour’s space.
Your voucher admits one person into the unreserved picnic area (so you will require a separate voucher for each member of your party).
